Ready for Christmas!

Well...Colton's officially ready for Christmas! This weekend we went and saw Santa. We thought that Colton was going to be scared and that we would end up with a nice red faced, tear filled picture of him and Santa (everyone around us also assured us this would happen), but what we got was the exact opposite! We wouldn't say that Colt LOVED Santa, but he definitely didn't cry. He more looked at him like "who the heck are you?!" What came next however did make him cry...apparently Colton is not a huge fan of horses including carousels. It was like torture the entire time we rode it! We couldn't get a smile out of him until we got off!

1st Steps!

Tonight was a big night...Colton took his very first steps! Although he didn't get far we were so excited to see him take these very few little steps. Colton's getting more and more brave letting go of things and trying to walk, we think he may be walking by Christmas!

Happy Birthday Colton!

Colton's first birthday party was a huge success and he had so much fun! He was so excited to see all of his friends and family and played with everyone the whole day. Colt loved opening his presents and playing with his new toys...he definitely has lots to keep him busy now! The party concluded with a round of Happy Birthday, Colton trying to stick his fingers in the candles and some very yummy cake. We were a little unsure how Colt would like his cake, but after testing it out a little bit he ended up doing pretty good! Click here to see some more party pics!

1 Year Old

One year...holy cow! The past year has completely flown by and Colton is already one! Colt is a busy, busy boy...so much so that he's fallen off the weight chart a little and now has to drink yummy calorie packed chocolate milk. At his one year check up he weighed in at 21 pounds, 7 1/2 ounces and was 30 1/2 inches long. He may be a skinny thing, but he sure is tall! Colton is crawling almost to fast for us to catch him and working hard to try and walk...could be any day now. He's saying Mama and Dada and points at any animal and exclaims "Ga!" we're pretty sure that's Colt talk for dog...he sure loves his Cooper! Colton's first year has been absolutely amazing, we're so blessed to have what we think is just about the happiest baby ever! Here's to another great year!

Baptism Day

Last week Colton was Baptized at our church St. Stephens. He was such a good boy throughout everything...and didn't even cry when the water was poured on his head! It was so fun to have all our family there especially Colt's Godmother and Godfather, Auntie Katie and Uncle Adam.

1st Haircut!

Today was a really fun day...Colton got his first haircut! He had so much fun playing with the steering wheel and horn while Meredith cut his hair and he didn't even cry! Colt loved every minute of it and even clapped when he was all done and got a rubber ducky for being so good. It all concluded with a mohawk and everyone we saw after that commenting on how cute he looked! He's such a big boy now!

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween everyone! We hope you are having a fun Halloween and getting lots of treats instead of tricks! Colton has been having a lot of fun the last couple of days showing everyone his monkey costume, but no trick-or-treating this year...maybe next year!

11 Months Old

Believe it or not we're just one month away from Colton's 1st birthday and preparations are well underway for what is sure to be a fun party! Colt is now 22 pounds and 29 inches long...he's getting so big! Colton is keeping us busy at home crawling around and getting into just about anything he can get his hands on. At school he's now the oldest in his class and is helping teach all the other babies how to sit and crawl. He loves walking all around his classroom with the toy shopping cart...and his teachers tell us it won't be long until he doesn't need the cart anymore!

Carving Pumpkins

As promised Colton helped Jake carve our pumpkins for Halloween. He wasn't that into the pumpkin guts, but he did get a little messy! Our front porch is now ready for all of our trick-or-treaters!

Out in the Pumpkins

It was such a nice fall weekend we packed Colton up and headed out to the pumpkin patch. Colt loved playing in the pumpkins and touching all the funny looking bumpy ones. He had so much fun, the only part he didn't like was when the giant monster truck would start up...not to worry though he quickly recovered and got back to playing and picking out his pumpkins! Next up...carving them for Halloween!

10 Months Old

Well it's been a busy month for Colton and as you can see it's getting harder and harder to get these monthly photos of him! Colt didn't have much of a growth spurt this month, he's weighing in at 21 pounds and is still 28 3/4 inches long. He's got five teeth in and three more that are about to pop through. Colton loves cruising around anything he can hold on to and is even getting brave enough to try standing on his own every once in a while...although when he does it's only a second or two before he comes crashing down! But out of everything he's doing right now, his favorite new thing is clapping...he's so proud of himself when he sees everyone laughing and clapping along with him!

Take Me Out to the Ball Game

On Sunday Colton got to go to his first baseball game! Even though it was a rainy day we packed up our stuff and headed to Cheney Stadium for the Tacoma Rainiers game. Colt loved watching the game, cheering and dancing to all the songs. With all the excitement it was no shock that Colton spent the last few innings taking a nap!

9 Months Old

Hard to believe that summer is already coming to an end and even harder to believe that Colton will soon be one! At his check up this month he weighed 20 pounds, 12 ounces and was 28 3/4 inches long...right about average for weight and a little above average for height. Colt's two bottom teeth are fully in and we learned that he is getting six of his top teeth at the same time...needless to say we are going through a lot of shirts with all that drool! He's loving trying all sorts of new foods and starting to feed himself, we found out that he loves mashed potatoes! Colt is doing really well at school and is no longer the youngest baby, now he's the one showing all the new kids the ropes!

8 Months Old

8 months old...WOW! Colton is getting bigger every day and now weighs 20 pounds and is 28 inches long, such a big boy. He is talking up a storm, so now we're just waiting for an actual real word to come out! Colt is surviving the summer and this heat wave we're having by spending evenings playing in his pool and getting a cool bath at night before bed. He's trying hard to learn how to crawl, pulls himself up to standing on just about anything tall enough and has mastered his sippy cup...we can't wait to see what he'll do next!

Tickle Time!

Over the past few months Colton has become very ticklish. Jake really had him going tonight so we thought we'd let you in on the fun!

Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July everyone! We had a great first 4th of July as a family. It was nice and hot so Colt cooled off and played in his pool which he absolutely loved. It was a busy day and Colton was tuckered out by the time the fireworks started and slept through it all, not even waking for the biggest booms!

Cap'n Colt...Ahoy!

Today was a big day for Colton, he took his first boat trip and his first swim in Lake Washington! Colt loved the boat ride out to our usual spot where we put the anchor down and jumped in to cool off. After a long day of playing on the boat and swimming in the water, Colt finally crashed and took a much needed nap. We've definitely got a future boater on our hands!

We Have Teeth!

We made a big discovery back on June 16...Colt's bottom two teeth broke through! It took a while for us to be able to snap some photos of them since we really only see them when he cries, which isn't very often! He's been doing really well and they don't seem to be bothering him, which we're very thankful for...he just loves gnawing on his hands now!

7 Months Old

Hard to believe it's been 7 months since we brought Colton home from the hospital. Back then he was just a little over 5 pounds and 19 1/2 inches, now he's tipping the scales at 19 pounds, 4 ounces and is 27 1/2 inches long! He is loving school and his teachers tell us all the time how much they love him and what a lady killer he's going to be when he grows up with those big blue eyes! Colt has also advanced to his next level of transportation...the combat crawl! He can really get moving on his tummy now, can't wait to see what he does next. He's trying all sorts of new veggies...sweet potatoes went over pretty well, but carrots were another story!
