Merry Christmas!

...more like Happy New Year at this point! It's taken a while to get some of these Christmas pictures up here, but we had an amazing Christmas this year. It was so much fun watching Colton begin to figure out what happens during Christmas. From searching for Buttons and hanging an ornament on our advent calendar every morning, to baking cookies with Auntie Katie and playing with Papa's train from when he was little, everything was something new and fun! Colt left milk and cookies for Santa and carrots for his reindeer and in the morning he woke up to new toys and tons of balloons...his new favorite thing to play with! Here's to a fun year ahead!

Christmas Time

We've been having so much fun getting ready for Christmas and Colton is definitely in the spirit! Buttons the elf joined our family after Thanksgiving and reports to Santa at the North Pole every night about how good Colt has been that day. Every morning we find Buttons in a new spot and hang a new ornament on the Advent calendar. Colton loves looking at the Christmas lights and eating candy canes...or candy corns as he calls them. We've been talking about Santa a lot, preparing Colt for his trip to sit on Santa's lap. We were a little unsure on the reaction we were going to get, but were so proud of him when he walked right up to Santa! Colton had so much fun sitting on Santa's lap, he of course told him he wanted a candy corn for Christmas and was presented one on the spot! He left giving Santa a hug and a high five and wanting to go back for more!

2 Years Old

What a big boy! In the last year Colton has gained more than 6 pounds and grown over just 3 inches. At his two year check up he weighed 27 pounds and was 33 1/4 inches tall...still a little on the small side, but what he lacks in size he makes up for in cuteness! Colt got great reviews at his check up, he's healthy, talking up a storm, running everywhere and is even getting his two year molars. We're so lucky to have had another blessed year, and can't wait to see what the next one brings!

Snow Day!

Today Colton played in the snow for the very first time! The winter Colt was born we had a bad snow storm, and this was the first time since that we've had enough snow to play in and we took full advantage. Colton and Cooper had a ton of fun playing in the front yard...Coop wore himself out running around with his ball and Colt had fun just throwing the snow up in the air. What a fun day!

Happy 2nd Birthday!

Wow...talk about time flying, last weekend we had Colton's 2nd birthday party! He doesn't officially turn two until this Friday, but we had a lot of fun celebrating early with our family and friends. Colt had fun playing, opening presents and eating lots and lots of cake! He got a special present from Mommy and Daddy...a new aquarium for his room with three fishies! Click here to see some more pics from the party!

Family Photo Time

Well Colton is about to be 2 years old and we'd never had any real family photos taken so we thought it was about time! We called up our wedding photographer Clare Marie, and she met us at the Arboretum on a beautiful October afternoon to chase us around. She did a great job and the pictures of Colt are just adorable! Here's a little sampling...

Happy Halloween!

What a fun Halloween weekend! It started off with Jake and Colton carving a pumpkin for the front porch. Colt was so excited about carving the pumpkin, but when it came time to clean it out he would barely touch it because it was "ucky!" Besides cleaning it out, Colton loved helping his Daddy.
On Halloween Colton put on his Nemo costume and was the cutest little fishy walking around! While we were out trick-or-treating or "punkin tweeting" as Colton likes to call it...he was the hit of the neighborhood. Colt had so much fun going door to door and watching all the big kids run around in their costumes, we can't wait to see what he does next year!
